          Replacing 16,000 Worn-Out Taxis with TEJARAT BANK’s Facilities
          In order to reduce air pollution in metropolis Tehran, TEJARAT BANK granted 3,245 billion rials worth of loans and facilities for replacing 16,000 worn-out taxis, the Public Relations Dept. of the bank reported.
          However, the bank has contributed to reduce air pollution in the capital Tehran by providing 3,245 billion rials worth of loans to phase out 16,000 old taxis. 
          As one of the three banks participating in a plan to replace 90,000 worn-out taxis, TEJARAT BANK undertook payment of facilities and loans for 30,000 worn-out taxis. It should be noted that Dr. Mohammad-BaqerNobakht Head of State Management and Panning Organization (MPO) attended the ceremony. 
          So far, a number of 16,223 loans and facilities, totally amounting to 3,245 billion rials, have been paid to applicants by TEJARAT BANK for the purchase of taxi. 
          In Feb. 2016, TEJARAT BANK undertook the payment of loans and facilities for the purchase of 30,000 taxis in line with implementing a plan entitled “Renovating and Modernizing Worn-Out Fleet of Taxis”. 
          Reducing air pollution, promoting and improving public welfare, respecting citizens and increasing safety of passengers have been cited as the main objectives of the plan to overhaul aging taxi fleet in the country, the report added. 
          In line with renovating and modernizing a part of public transport fleet, TEJARAT BANK also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tehran Urban and Suburban Bus Company and also two operation companies, affiliated to Tehran Bus Services Organization, in mid-July 2017 for the provision of 200 facilities and loans within the framework of installment sales of bus.
          Moreover, in order to facilitate payment of charges (fares) by passengers in buses and metro (subway), TEJARAT BANK launched Electronic Payment Project in the primary phase in the cities of Tehran and Arak and this giant project will soon be implemented throughout the country. 
          It is worth mentioning that TEJARAT BANK has already involved in financing the construction and development of Tehran metro (subway) Lines No. 1 and 4 as well.
